Essential Oils have become “essential” to my family, sanity and business.
Essential Oils elicit thoughts and emotions through olfactory memory. Emotions, good and bad, shape our choices. Past experiences and beliefs frame our perceptions of events.
Everything works in contrast: black and white, yin and yang, healthy and sick, happy and sad, good and bad. It would be hard to identify emotional highs without knowing what low’s feels like.
Climbing a mountain is exciting to one person and terrifying to another. Emotions impact how we navigate choices, similar to how the navigation system routes our drives. Choices become automatic based on past experiences and autopilot wiring. Scents create specific emotions when our minds associate smells with past experiences and feelings. Think about the smells of hot chocolate, roasted pecans, pizza, pine trees or vanilla. What comes to mind for you?
What if you could nudge yourself toward being more productive, alert or relaxed with smells. Would you like to disinfect your home with safe, chemical free products that smell good too? Essential oils support your ability to feel different, adopt healthy habits and reframe old triggers.
We need all emotions; anger, sadness, anxiety, resentment, excitement, exhilaration, anticipation, and more. Emotions and health impact feeling confident, productive, determined and focused or the encourage the opposite: lazy, uninspired, and overwhelmed or wanting to procrastinate. Wheres the balance?
Feeling good more often than not is critical; at the very least being able to get from a less than ideal place to happy, joyful and focused is a necessity. Essential oils can be used for this purpose in 3 different ways.
The 3 ways to use essential oils in your life are aromatically, topically or internally.
1. Aromatically, through a diffuser works to spread the oil particles and scents into the air:
2. Topically, applying a few drops directly on your skin and rubbing it in:
3. Internally, place 1-2 drops under your tongue, on your tongue, in capsules or added into your recipes (depending upon which oil you’re using)
Note: Be sure that you only ingest oils classified as therapeutic grade withy absolutely no fillers or cheap synthetics!
The following 15 essential oils are my top recommendations:
3. Peace & Calming
4. Stress Away
16. Ylang ylang**** BONUS OIL
Here are some of the best reasons for choosing any of these oils:
Stress Away can be rubbed on your temples, forehead and back of neck throughout the day to combat normal stresses that creep into everyday life. It contains unique stress relieving combination of Lime and Vanilla essential oils. The balancing effect of this oil makes it one of my go to oils when I feel pressure or I just want to wind down. Secret- I hate flying, so I always roll this on my wrists and my neck and it literally calms me down.
Thieves can be taken internally to support a daily wellness regimen; put it in a capsule and swallow with water to support your immune system (especially during the cold and flu months) it can be diffused for clean, healthy smelling air, and it can even be added to your dishwasher to thoroughly clean dishes and eliminate odors.
Peppermint is one of the oldest and highly regarded herbs for supporting digestion. Peppermint promotes a healthy intestinal function and may provide gastrointestinal comfort. Add a few drops of Peppermint to your water during a workout to increase performance and you can also use it on the back of your neck and on your shoulders throughout the day to improve your concentration and alertness.
Digize is a proprietary blend to Young Living and it’s made up of Ginger, Anise, Fennel, Peppermint, Tarragon, Lemongrass, Patchouli and Juniper essential oils. Many of those are well-respected to aid in healthy digestion. You can use Digize before or after meals to support digestion and cleansing. You should also make it a staple in your suitcase whenever you travel.
Orange can be used many ways. Take it in a capsule with water for cellular support or put it in your recipes to enhance flavor with no artificial flavorings. Orange is also a wonderful emotional support oil that elicits good memories. You may also add it to your water bottle for flavor and to encourage an uplifting mood.

I’ve personally used oils for the past 13 years and they’ve had an impact on my life, health and wellbeing. All three of my children use them regularly, as do clients and companies We bring these oils to our corporate wellness clients so more people can experience them first hand. It’s actually incredible to witness their immediate responses to different scents we diffuse and encourage them to try.
It’s time to share this with my followers, friends, family and readers who know and trust me. My health journey has been a long one that wasn’t always easy. I experienced many highs and lows along with life-threatening disease. The few constants which enabled me to sustain a 30 pound weight loss for 14 years, change my body, mindset and overall wellness have been the lifestyle habits I LOVE. I can’t tell you how much better I feel now than I ever did in my 30’s. My cravings have changed, my temperament is even and fewer things stress me. I’ve been asked me to share how I was able to make and sustain all of these changes for so long. So for this new year, I’m committing to consistent videos, blogs, periscopes and posts to help those ready to dip their feet into change, one baby step at a time. It’s about making changes that aren’t hard but have a huge impact on your health.
